About Us

Our Story

Tacoma Capoeira Center was established in 2011 under the guidance of Mestre Mangangá, preserving the traditions of Capoeira Angola in Pierce County.

We are committed to sharing the authentic traditions of Capoeira Angola, and we aim to inspire individuals through cultural education, physical movement, practical self-defense tactics and a strong sense of community.

In 2024, we transitioned to 100% free nonprofit program, Capoeira Vida, now powered by Tasveer. Our shared mission is to uplift historically marginalized communities in Tacoma by providing equitable access to Capoeira’s empowering elements.
